Janitor Maintenance

Position: Janitor Maintenance Role
Join Lookout Housing and Health Society as a Janitor Maintenance Worker in Surrey, BC. This casual position involves ensuring site cleanliness and maintaining building functions.

In this role, you will report to the Site Manager while adhering to Lookout's mission and ethical standards. Key responsibilities include janitorial work, equipment monitoring, and building maintenance responsibilities such as plumbing and landscaping. You will also assist new staff and supervise volunteers, ensuring facilities meet guest needs. Your ability to work independently and collaboratively will be crucial for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform sweeping, washing, and waxing of floors

• Clean and disinfect all surfaces thoroughly

• Monitor and maintain functionality of building equipment

• Conduct repairs including plumbing and landscaping tasks

• Support new staff and oversee volunteer activities

Requirements:

• Minimum Grade 12 education plus two years of related experience

• Building Service Worker Diploma is a plus

• Current Occupational First Aid Level 1 Certificate

• Two years sobriety if related to concerns

• Criminal Record Clearance – Vulnerable Sector
