Janitor Maintenance Worker
Maintain clean, functional facilities at Lookout Housing and Health Society as a full-time Janitor Maintenance Worker in the Baird Blackstone Building. Apply janitorial and repair skills.
Reporting to the Site Manager, this permanent position supports Lookout’s mission and Code of Ethics. You will maintain interior and exterior cleanliness, building equipment, suites, and facility functions. The schedule runs Sunday through Thursday, from 0600 to 1400 hours, with 7.5-hour shifts. Work may occur independently or with staff, volunteers, and new employees. Supporting facilities meet guests’ needs remains part of the work.
Key Responsibilities:- Sweep, wash, wax floors, and disinfect surfaces
- Remove garbage and empty recycling containers
- Monitor and upkeep building equipment
- Repair plumbing, landscaping, suites, and premises
- Assist staff, new employees, and volunteers
- Grade 12 plus two years’ related experience, or equivalent
- Current Occupational First Aid Level 1 Certificate
- Ability to manage stress and organize workload
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
- Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Clearance and respirator fit testing
