Central City Brewers and Distillers is a craft brewery in the business of developing and selling international award-winning premium craft beer and high-quality distilled spirits brewed without compromise. Based in Surrey, British Columbia, CCBD was voted Canada's Best Brewery of the Year in 2010 and 2012. Its Red Racer brand has become a cult icon among craft beer enthusiasts throughout North America.
Founded in 2003 as a brewpub and liquor store in downtown Surrey, CCBD celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2013 with the grand opening of a brand new, 68,000 sq. ft. brewery and distillery on Bridgeview Drive. In 2019 we opened a 40,000 sq. ft. storage facility with approximately 2000 barrels of whiskey ageing in this facility. We are proud of being a local-Canadian Brewery that is currently expanding.
In 2021 the company completed the installation of a new canning line designated for contract manufacturing.
The Power Engineer is primarily responsible for conducting, maintaining, testing, steam/process control, and components. You will need to apply your knowledge of mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and apply skills in restoring equipment to the intended operation. This position reports to the Maintenance and Engineering Manager. Please note this is a night shift only from 11pm to 7am.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities- Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, good manufacturing practices (GMPs), and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the warehouse and production areas
- Responsible to adhere to food quality and food safety as per quality standards and/or Safe Quality Food requirement
- Plans and performs complex corrective and preventative maintenance, requiring a thorough knowledge of mechanical theories and principles
- Familiar operating within a CMMS-controlled setting
- Worked in an environment featuring a mixture of preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance
- Daily completion of all documentation required
- Ensuring that all the products are reproduced in accordance with established quality and product standards
- Operating and adjusting production line equipment
- Performing preventative maintenance and reporting any problems
- Checking and maintaining defined levels of all raw materials used in production on assigned machinery
- Evaluating and discussing the operation of assigned machinery with the Operations and Maintenance Managers
- Becoming familiar with the daily production goals
- Any other duties as required
- Class 4 Boiler Power engineer certification
- 2+ years of Production/line machine experience
- 2+ years of Line operation experience within a food and beverage production environment
- Detailed-oriented with the ability to keep accurate records
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to liaise with individuals of all levels
- Excel in work situations where multi-tasking and adaptability are considered strengths
- Strong skill set working with Gmail and Microsoft Office, including word and excel
- High level of craftsmanship and the desire to grow and learn new skills
