Job Description

This role involves working in a dynamic manufacturing environment where tasks and stations change daily. Employees will engage in repetitive tasks using up to 20 different machines, rotating as needed to fulfill orders. Work may involve both the plastic and steel areas of the shop, including deburring steel, moving products, and boxing production. Support for welders and operation of various machines is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate machines set up by the Charge Hand, placing racks and stepping on foot pedals to operate and weld.
• Feed metal sheets into machines to crimp and create bends, repeating tasks as needed based on order size.
• Set angles and cut metal pipes using a tube cutter machine, repeating tasks according to order requirements.
• Sand edges of metal tubes using a belt sander, repeating tasks as necessary.
• Move parts from welding stations for shipment preparation and support welders.
• Utilize power tools to clean machined parts and move parts around the floor for processing.
• Count products accurately for shipment and assist in assembly by stacking plastic pieces into boxes.

Essential Skills

• 1+ years experience working in a production/manufacturing environment, preferably with metal, plastic, or woodworking.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools, comfortable holding and using them.
• Ability to keep count of parts to ensure accurate shipment quantities.
• Self-motivation and initiative to maintain productivity during repetitive tasks.
• Capability to lift up to 45lbs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment, understanding processes and safety procedures.
• Experience in construction, woodworking, or plastics industry.
• Forklift experience and certification are advantageous.

Employees work in either the metal or plastics department, alongside laborers, machine operators, fabricators, and welders. The dress code requires long pants or shorts. The company is a manufacturer of display units for various well-known retailers across North America. The environment is transit accessible, providing a variety of job opportunities and stability with tenure.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Surrey, BC.

The pay range for this position is $22.42 - $22.42/hr.
