* This role involves industrial painting, coating, and sandblasting in heavy industrial environments. You will perform surface preparation, apply epoxy and urethane coatings, and support blasting and painting operations while working safely and efficiently. ** Responsibilities*
* Perform power tool cleaning and surface preparation for brush and roll painting on industrial projects.
Prepare surfaces using hand tools such as sandpaper and scrapers to ensure proper adhesion of coatings.
Use power tools such as grinders and orbital sanders to clean and prepare pipes, structural steel, and other industrial components.
Support sandblasters by pulling blast lines, filling blast pots, and fueling compressors as required.
Support painters by pulling paint lines, moving lights, and setting up work areas to ensure efficient operations.
Apply epoxy and urethane coatings using brush and roller methods, ensuring consistent coverage and high-quality finishes.
Perform masking using tape and paper to protect surfaces not being painted or coated.
Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment while working in industrial environments.
Work under supervision while actively participating in training and mentorship to improve skills and knowledge.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate tasks and maintain a safe, organized work site.
Travel daily to the assigned industrial site and arrive reliably and on time for scheduled shifts.
** Essential Skills*
* Minimum 2+ years of industrial painting and blasting experience on industrial sites.
Proficiency with power tool cleaning for industrial surfaces.
Proficiency with brush and roller paint application for industrial coatings.
Ability to apply epoxy and urethane coatings in an industrial environment.
Ability to travel to the site daily with reliable transportation and a valid vehicle.
Strong communication skills to work effectively with supervisors and team members.
Current WHMIS certification.
Current fall protection cert
Ability and willingness to wear and use required PPE, including FR coveralls, hard hat, safety glasses, and task-appropriate gloves.
Consistent attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic in industrial settings.

** Work Environment*
* You will work at industrial site in Burnaby, performing tasks in a heavy industrial environment that involves painting, coating, and sandblasting.
The standard schedule follows a 4 x 10s shift pattern, typically Monday to Thursday, with the possibility of additional shifts on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday as needed. A common shift runs from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a 15-minute morning break, a 30-minute lunch, and a 15-minute afternoon break. Any Friday call-ins are treated as overtime, and there is frequent opportunity for additional hours.
The work requires regular use of industrial equipment such as grinders, orbital sanders, blast lines, blast pots, compressors, and painting tools. You must wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times, including FR coveralls, a hard hat, safety glasses, and task-appropriate gloves, and you will work in a safety-focused environment that emphasizes proper procedures and safe operation of tools and equipment.
