Job Summary
The Operations Support Specialist supports production, engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives by reviewing customer orders, maintaining manufacturing accuracy, and assisting with operational process improvements.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, possesses strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, and communicates effectively across departments including Production, Sales, Customer Service, and Engineering.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for an entry‑level professional to develop knowledge in manufacturing operations, material optimization, production scheduling, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
Key Responsibilities- Review manufacturing work orders for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company standards.
- Verify bills of materials (BOMs), routing information, drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Coordinate with Order Entry, Customer Service, Engineering, and Production teams to resolve discrepancies or missing information.
- Monitor order status and assist in prioritizing urgent or high‑impact sales orders.
- Maintain accurate records within ERP/MRP systems and update documentation as required.
- Support production teams by troubleshooting operational or engineering‑related issues.
- Learn and support material optimization processes and associated CNC programming systems.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, waste reduction, and process optimization.
- Support Lean Manufacturing activities and assist in identifying opportunities to improve workflow and productivity.
- Assist with production scheduling and operational planning activities as required.
- Support quality assurance efforts by ensuring manufacturing documentation meets company standards and procedures.
- Assist with reporting, data analysis, and operational performance tracking.
- Communicate production issues, delays, or process changes to appropriate stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support operational objectives and business improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to maintaining a positive, team‑oriented, and safety‑focused work environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Post‑secondary education in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Business, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems is considered an asset.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement principles is an asset.
- Entry‑Level Salary Range: $42,000.00 - $49,000.00 CAD Annually (commensurate with experience).
