Overview Join our team as a Metal Inspector in Surrey, BC, at a bustling automotive yard. Contribute to daily operations by overseeing material handling and ensuring quality inspections. In your role as Metal Inspector, you'll be key in guiding customer loads to the proper unloading areas and ensuring effective communication among staff. This position requires attention to detail while managing yard cleanliness and performing inspections of scrap material.
Candidates with prior yard work experience will find an advantage, but a solid commitment to safety is essential.
Responsibilities Direct incoming customer loads to appropriate areas
Maintain communication via radio for operational updates
Perform general yard maintenance and repairs
Sort materials and conduct quality grade evaluations
Accurately log production data and participate in inspections
Requirements High School diploma or equivalent experience desired
Minimum 1 year in an automotive or yard setting
Comfortable using hand and power tools
Able to lift 55 lbs and work in all weather
Preferred vehicle access; location 20 minutes from Scott Road Station
Ensure quality and safety as a Metal Inspector, supporting an agile team in Surrey.
