Seasonal Machine Operator

Seasonal Rate: $25.00/hr
Key Accountabilities- Adhere to all health and safety policies, procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in warehouse or production areas (including but not limited to hairnets, beard nets, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe boots, and seatbelts while operating forklifts).
- Adhere to food quality and food safety standards as per quality guidelines and Safe Quality Food requirements.
- Be proficient in operating the specific machine (e.g., Labeller, Filler, Depalletizer, Mead, Kayat, Palletizer, Harkness) and related equipment.
- Follow the production schedule and communicate with the Lead Hand regarding problems or necessary changes.
- Constantly monitor the line for issues such as down bottles/cans, low fills, faulty packaging, damage, missing or improperly registered labels.
- Monitor finished products and cases for proper closures/seams, dates, product codes, and ensure packaging meets specification.
- Follow all Quality Assurance and Production line standard operating procedures.
- Perform changeovers efficiently and carefully, ensuring correct settings and parts are installed and that no mechanical defects exist.
- Record all necessary production and quality information, keep accurate downtime reports, and complete documentation.
- Maintain equipment and surrounding area clean and free of debris; empty garbage and recycling containers at shift end.
- Collaborate with all departments to improve quality, increase efficiencies, increase yields, and eliminate out‑of‑specification or damaged product.
- Perform any other duties assigned by a Lead Hand or Management.
- Experience in a fast‑moving packaged goods environment; beverage production experience preferred.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Solid understanding of production machinery and forklifts, including awareness of technical issues.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
- Formal training in WHMIS, HACCP, hygiene, or similar areas preferred.
- Forklift certification may be required.
- Must be able to work shift rotations (AM and PM shifts).
- High School Certification.
- 3–5 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Physical:
Continuously standing or walking; regular lifting/handling/carrying of moderate‑weight material or equipment. - Visual/Sensory:
Requires moderate attention with one or two senses at a time. - Work environment:
Very repetitive. - Mental Stress:
