Job Summary
Bring your clinical expertise and passion for providing quality, compassionate care to a challenging and rewarding role as a Nurse Practitioner. Working collaboratively with family physicians, nurse practitioners, social workers, and community service providers you will provide service in our New Canadian Clinic located in Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre (JPOCSC) in Surrey, B.C. JPOCSC Provides a full range of scheduled outpatient services including day surgery, diagnostic services, and specialized health clinics.

As part of this rewarding role, you will provide primary health care services for government assisted refugees, privately sponsored refugees, and refugee claimants. Are you interested in global health? In this role you will work with patients across the life span with heavy focus on pediatrics, obstetrics, chronic disease, and mental health.
The clinic focuses on providing health management, education and self-management supporting those with language barrier and limited health literacy.

The Nurse Practitioner is responsible and accountable for the comprehensive assessment of patients/clients/residents including diagnosing diseases, disorders, and conditions. The Nurse Practitioner initiates treatment including health care management, therapeutic interventions and prescribes medications in accordance with the statutory and regulatory standards, limits, and conditions, and employer policies and procedures. The Nurse Practitioner provides professional guidance to other health professionals and practices autonomously and interdependently within the context of an interdisciplinary health care team, making referrals to specialist physicians and others as appropriate.
