Job Summary:

Responsibilities- Diagnose and treat diseases, disorders, and conditions within the Nurse Practitioner’s scope of practice and write orders for treatment and medications.
- Monitor ongoing care, request appropriate screening and diagnostic investigations, and interpret reports to plan treatment.
- Communicate health findings, diagnoses, and priorities to patients and families; provide support and counseling.
- Collaborate with physicians and other health care providers to assess and diagnose patient status, develop and implement treatment plans, and manage admissions and discharges according to policies.
- Prescribe drugs within statutory and regulatory standards and employer policies.
- Assign and supervise nursing and health care personnel, evaluate performance, and provide education and supervision.
- Participate in research and contribute to improved patient care and population health initiatives.
- Implement screening and health promotion activities for at-risk populations.
- Engage in interdisciplinary education through case presentations, mentoring, and knowledge exchange.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing, interdisciplinary, and health system policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as required.
Education and Experience
Current practicing registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Recent relevant clinical nursing experience.
