Become part of Fraser Health's Aboriginal Health program as an Indigenous Community Health Nurse. This role entails providing holistic patient care through assessment, health promotion, and culturally sensitive services.
As a key member of an interprofessional team, you will focus on direct patient care, including initial consultations, health assessments, and immunization clinics. Your expertise in nursing and understanding of Aboriginal health practices will guide your interactions with clients, families, and healthcare providers to optimize health outcomes. Flexibility in providing care—whether in clinic, community, or phone settings—ensures accessibility and personalization.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver nursing care and conduct comprehensive health assessments
• Administer immunizations and manage vaccination clinics
• Collaborate with healthcare teams for seamless client transitions
• Provide education and counseling on health topics
• Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation
Requirements:
• Current RN registration with BCCNM
• One year of recent clinical experience
• Valid BC driver's license and access to a vehicle
• Knowledge of Aboriginal health approaches
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
