Become an Emergency Psychiatric Liaison Nurse and support vulnerable patients in crisis through your nursing expertise. Engage in assessments and develop essential care strategies seamlessly.
This position, within the Emergency Department's Mental Health and Substance Use zone, demands a dedicated Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse. You will assess and address the needs of psychiatric patients, provide direct nursing care, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure effective treatment and advocacy.
Your role is critical in providing both immediate and long-term support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform comprehensive assessments on psychiatric patients
• Facilitate crisis intervention with a focus on patient safety
• Collaborate on care plans with healthcare professionals
• Document care processes thoroughly according to standards
• Provide education and resources to patients and families
Requirements:
• Must possess current BCCNM registration as a Nurse
• At least one year of relevant experience in mental health
• Strong understanding of legislation affecting mental health care
• Ability to communicate and advocate effectively for patients
• Commitment to maintaining a safe therapeutic environment
