Position: Fraser Health Emergency Psychiatric Nurse

This role demands a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse equipped to perform thorough psychosocial assessments. You will collaborate with an interprofessional team, addressing the mental health needs of patients in the Emergency Department. Your expertise in crisis management and care planning will be pivotal in supporting patients’ journeys to recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform intake assessments for psychiatric patients

• Develop individualized care plans with treatment goals

• Collaborate with Emergency staff to adapt patient care

• Document all assessments and care plans accurately

• Advocate for patients in accessing community resources

Requirements:

• Current registration with BCCNM as RN/RPN

• One year recent experience in mental health settings

• Skills in crisis intervention and mental health advocacy

• Ability to communicate effectively within a team

• Knowledge of legislation impacting mental health
