Working collaboratively with a team of Nurse Practitioner Leaders and reporting to the Director, Nurse Practitioners, you will provide practice leadership to NPs across Fraser Health. In this role, you will champion professional practice, support role clarity, foster collaboration within interprofessional teams, and help maximize the impact of Nurse Practitioners across the continuum of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, guidance, mentorship, and professional development support to Nurse Practitioners across Fraser Health.
  • Foster role integration and professional practice excellence through mentorship, clinical practice feedback, collaborative physician partnerships, and strong interprofessional relationships.
  • Lead initiatives that advance NP practice, professional standards, education, research, and evidence-informed care.
  • Support quality improvement and innovation initiatives that enhance patient outcomes and experiences.
  • Participate in strategic planning and implementation of new acute care programs and services throughout the health authority.
  • Lead and support organizational change initiatives related to NP practice and healthcare delivery.
  • Collaborate with Fraser Health Talent Acquisition to attract, recruit, and retain Nurse Practitioner talent, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and engagement with educational institutions.
  • Maintain clinical practice and perform Nurse Practitioner duties as required.

  • Current practicing registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience as a Nurse Practitioner, supplemented by five (5) years of clinical practice and educational and/or program development experience in a complex health care environment.

The Leader, Nurse Practitioner provides practice leadership to the Nurse Practitioners (NPs) that serve throughout Fraser Health, acknowledging that Nurse Practitioners are autonomous, collaborative practitioners and that developing role clarity is essential to the effectiveness of interprofessional teams in which NPs function. Working to foster role integration and understanding, creates a supportive structure for professional practice support that will ensure adequate opportunities for mentorship, clinical practice feedback, collegial relationships with physicians, and collaborative practice within the interprofessional teams.

In addition, the Leader, Nurse Practitioner performs Nurse Practitioner duties as assigned.
