Cemetery Groundskeeper at Gardens of Gethsemani

Become a vital part of the Gardens of Gethsemani team as a Cemetery Groundskeeper. This full-time role combines grounds maintenance, compassionate family support, and adherence to church traditions.

Working at the Gardens of Gethsemani, you'll perform essential cemetery operations, including grave preparations and memorial placements. Your duties will include maintaining the landscape and irrigation systems, as well as transporting human remains respectfully during burial services. You must comply with all health and safety regulations while interacting tactfully with grieving families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare gravesites and perform burial functions

• Maintain cemetery grounds and irrigation systems

• Transport human remains and lower caskets respectfully

• Assist visitors in locating gravesites

• Perform memorial placements timely and accurately

Requirements:

• High school diploma or higher preferred

• Experience with tools and machinery for maintenance

• Knowledge of Catholic burial traditions

• Ability to work in all weather conditions

• Valid BC driver’s license required
