Industrial / Municipal / Infrastructure

Industra is a multi-disciplined, self‑perform General Contractor actively seeking individuals who want to grow within our organization and directly contribute to its success. We specialize in heavy civil, structural, and municipal infrastructure projects across Canada.

We are seeking a Quality Manager to join the Industra team based in Surrey, BC. This role is responsible for leading and overseeing quality assurance and quality control processes across projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.

This position plays a key role in driving consistent quality standards, continuous improvement, and regulatory compliance across all projects nationally. This role is based on site in Surrey with travel cross Canada.

Key Responsibilities Quality Management & Program Leadership
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company’s Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) programs.
  • Develop and maintain project‑specific quality plans, procedures, and documentation to support construction activities.
  • Promote and enforce quality standards across all projects, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Inspection, Testing & Compliance
  • Create, implement, and ensure compliance with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and all supporting documentation.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to project specifications, drawings, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Interpret client requirements, technical specifications, and regulatory standards, translating them into clear QA/QC documentation and processes.
  • Ensure all quality documentation is complete, accurate, and audit‑ready.
Project & Field Collaboration
  • Work closely with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction teams to plan and coordinate quality activities.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to project teams and subcontractors on quality expectations and requirements.
  • Collaborate with site teams to identify, address, and resolve quality issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Support project teams in maintaining compliance throughout all phases of construction.
Vendor & Subcontractor Quality Oversight
  • Support supplier and subcontractor selection from a quality perspective, including review of documentation and qualifications.
  • Audit subcontractors’ quality management systems and processes to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Monitor and report on supplier and subcontractor performance related to quality standards.
Continuous Improvement & Issue Resolution
  • Lead or support root cause analysis for quality issues, non‑conformances, and client concerns.
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to mitigate recurring issues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and overall quality performance across the organization.
Stakeholder & Regulatory Coordination
  • Act as a key liaison between internal teams, clients, consultants, suppliers, and regulatory authorities on quality‑related matters.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, provincial, and client‑specific regulations and standards.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
Qualifications
  • Degree or diploma in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a construction environment (heavy civil, infrastructure, or industrial projects preferred).
  • Strong working knowledge of applicable codes and standards (e.g., ISO, CSA, ASME, and relevant building and infrastructure codes).
  • Experience developing and implementing QA/QC programs, ITPs, and quality documentation.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes including earthworks, concrete, structural steel, and infrastructure systems.
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections, and quality assessments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Bluebeam, Procore, and Microsoft Project is considered an asset.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CWB or equivalent) are considered an asset but not required.

Salary: $130,000- $155,000K

Our location also makes commuting easy. The office is just 7 minutes from the Highway 1 exit, making it ideal for those living east of the Port Mann Bridge — no bridge traffic! It’s equally convenient for those coming from downtown, Coquitlam or Burnaby, as the commute is against the main traffic flow.
