Horizon Recruitment is recruiting for a Quality Assurance Manager to lead quality and food safety operations at a growing food manufacturing facility in Surrey, BC. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring products consistently meet regulatory and customer standards while developing a high-performing quality team that supports efficient production. Working closely with senior quality leadership, you will help drive consistency, continuous improvement, and a strong food safety culture across the operation.
Responsibilities- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Quality Assurance professionals across multiple production shifts.
- Ensure food safety and quality programs are consistently executed throughout daily operations.
- Provide timely guidance and resolution for production-related quality issues.
- Partner with Production and Operations teams to maintain product quality while supporting efficient manufacturing.
- Monitor compliance with CFIA regulations, HACCP requirements, and internal quality standards.
- Support internal, customer, and third-party audits while maintaining certification requirements.
- Review, update, and improve quality documentation, procedures, and training materials.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen quality systems and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build positive working relationships across departments to promote accountability and collaboration.
- Foster an inclusive team environment that encourages development, communication, and high performance.
- Experience in food manufacturing or food production is required.
- Previous leadership experience within Quality Assurance, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP principles and CFIA regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop teams in a production setting.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities with cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable working in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting audits, inspections, and food safety certification programs.
- Bilingual skills in Mandarin, Cantonese, or Tagalog are considered an asset.
- Base salary of $70,000 to $80,000, depending on experience.
- Annual bonus target of approximately 10%.
- 15 days of vacation.
- Group benefits after three months of employment.
