Cancork Floor Inc. is a leading North American distributor specializing in cork flooring and cork wall products. Headquartered in Surrey, BC, we serve flooring retailers, designers, contractors, and homeowners across Canada and the United States. Our sister company, iCork Floor LLC, supports the U.S. market with the same product knowledge and service standards.
Cork is a technical flooring material that requires industry experience to explain properly. This position is designed for candidates who already understand flooring products, measurements, and customer expectations.
The RoleWe are seeking a Customer Service & Sales Support Specialist with flooring industry experience. This role is ideal for someone who has worked in a flooring showroom, flooring retail store, contractor sales counter, or building materials environment.
The main duties of this position are answering customer phone calls, understanding shipping procedures, and assisting walk-in showroom customers. You will also support customers by email with product selection, pricing, and orders.
This is not a cold-calling role. Customers contact us because they are actively interested in flooring. Your role is to provide accurate information, professional guidance, and timely follow-up.
The position also includes returning missed calls and following up with customers who have ordered flooring samples.
Full product training on cork flooring will be provided; however, prior flooring industry experience is required.
Key Responsibilities- Answer incoming customer phone calls and provide flooring product information
- Assist walk-in showroom customers with product selection and general inquiries
- Understand and explain shipping procedures, delivery timelines, and basic freight options
- Provide pricing, quotes, and order support via phone and email
- Calculate square footage, waste/overage, and material requirements
- Follow up on sample requests and return missed calls
- Work closely with the team to ensure accurate orders and smooth customer service
- Previous experience in the flooring industry is required (flooring retail, showroom sales, contractor counter sales, or building materials sales)
- Strong understanding of flooring measurements, square footage, and waste calculations
- Experience assisting customers in person and by phone
- Clear, professional spoken and written English
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable using computers, email, and Microsoft Word / Excel
- Confident, courteous phone and in-person communication skills
- Experience with hardwood, laminate, vinyl, cork, or tile flooring
- Familiarity with installation basics and subfloor considerations
- Experience handling shipping, freight coordination, or delivery questions
- Experience with POS systems or Woo Commerce-based websites
- Interest in interior design or architectural finishes
