Job Description

Allied Universal® is seeking Professional Security Guards to join our team in Surrey, BC. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of client properties, personnel, and assets. You will be expected to deliver a high level of customer service while maintaining strong security practices and compliance with established policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate is professional, detail-oriented, and capable of effectively managing both routine operations and emergency situations. Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and a customer-focused mindset are essential for success in this role.

Position Details

Location:

Surrey, BC

Pay Rate: $21.00 per hour

Schedule:

Thursday to Sunday, 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and dispatch security personnel based on incident type and urgency
  • Conduct CCTV monitoring and surveillance operations
  • Receive, assess, triage, and elevate security-related incidents
  • Respond to sensitive or high-risk situations with professionalism, tact, and discretion
  • Escalate critical incidents immediately to supervisory staff when required
  • Support incident response activities as directed by supervisors or authorized personnel
  • Report urgent matters, including life-safety incidents, in a timely and accurate manner
  • Follow all Allied Universal® and client procedures, policies, and directives
  • Collect, document, and report incident data accurately and in a timely manner
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with internal teams, clients, and vendors
  • Perform accurate data entry and maintain detailed records and reports
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Identify and communicate process improvement opportunities to supervisors
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Experience working in high-risk or critical environments where decision-making impacts life safety and operational continuity
  • Prior CCTV monitoring experience is required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong interpersonal and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
  • Availability to work all days of the week, including day and overnight shifts
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in security or dispatch operations
Education & Experience
  • Post-secondary education or relevant certifications considered an asset
  • Minimum of 2 years of related work experience, ideally in the security industry or a dispatch/control center environment
Physical & Working Conditions
  • Regular use of hands and frequent standing, sitting, bending, speaking, and listening
  • Ability to read and interpret computer screens, reports, and written communication in English
  • Frequent walking and standing; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs
  • May be required to climb stairs during site visits
  • Work is primarily performed in an office/control environment, with occasional exposure to outdoor conditions (rain, cold, heat)
  • Must be able to focus in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities under pressure
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful or emergency situations
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
