Position: Casual/on-call Security Officer 2-ELE
Position Summary
Under the general direction of the Security Manager, this position is responsible for protecting the Company's assets while being a welcoming ambassador to the Casino. Security Officers will protect all guests an d team members against theft, fraud, vandalism and abuse while delivering the highest level of service and respect to patrons and colleagues. This position will perform several varying duties throughout their shift, including controlling access to the facility and sensitive areas, escorting visitors, assisting departments, lost and found, and monitoring and recording within a daily log and assigned notebook.
They may also be required to provide first aid and medical attention . Ensures adherence to the Companys policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadians learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.
Key Accountabilities
Monitoring, documenting and reporting internal and external violations, unsafe conditions, potential hazards, suspicious persons and activities; preparing written and electronic statementsEnforcing restricted access by unauthorized personsObserving transactions, slot drops, chip fills and transferring items to Lost & FoundPerforming identification checksReferring disputes to the Supervisor, SecurityConducting regular patrols of the interior and exterior of the property as assigned;Escorting guests and team membersPerforming crowd control as directedAttend to first aid incidentsAssisting Supervisor, Security with enrolling guests in the Self-Exclusion programEnsures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulationsPerforms other duties as assigned or directedEducation and Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required, post-secondary education an assetTwo (2) years of experience working with the public in a service role or in the service industryExcellent problem solving and conflict resolution capabilitiesMust have valid BC Security LicensePrevious experience or training in security an assetMust have a valid class 5 drivers licenseA current First Aid/CPR certificationAbility to successfully obtain a Responsible liquor service (SIR) certificationInquisitive, investigative mind, able to identify suspicious behaviors /transactions and make sound judgments based on thisA willingness to learn, develop and achieve new skills for personal and professional developmentComputer literacy in MS OfficeAble to organize data with great accuracyKnowledge of privacy legislation an assetSelf-motivator and ability to inspire other team members in enhancing the guest experience within the entertainment businessAbility to multi-task and prioritizeAbility to follow rules, regulations, policies and procedures at all timesMust be able to work independently, without close direct supervision, and apply good judgment and discretion under pressureAbility to successfully obtain a Gaming LicenseWork Environment Considerations
Regular casino environment, standing and walking for long periods of time, non-traditional work hours
