An exciting opportunity exists at Mainroad Transtronic Services LP (MTS) for an Apprentice Electrician. This full-time position is based out of MTS’ Cloverdale (Surrey) yard and will report directly to the Electrical Foreman.

Mainroad Transtronic Services is a full-service electrical contracting group that provides electrical installation and maintenance services in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia.

The successful candidate shall have the following qualifications:

• 2nd or 3rd year Electrical Apprentice preferred
• Two (2) years of commercial and/or industrial electrical experience is preferred
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
• Working knowledge of current Canadian Electrical Code
• Ability to work at heights greater than 40 feet, including working on and under bridge structures, tunnels and roadways
• Fall protection and aerial lift certification (will be trained if not presently certified)
• Ability to perform shift work (i.e. days, nights) – typically aligned to week intervals. Work is more heavily weighted to day shift but can be project dependent.
• Ability to work out of town if necessary.
• Willingness to work in adverse weather conditions
• Computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Motivated, self-starter who has the ability to work under minimal supervision

Primary job duties include, installing, maintaining and repairing:

• Transportation based electrical equipment
• Medium and low voltage systems
• HID street/tunnel lighting
• PLC’s (programmable logic controllers)
• Traffic control equipment
