Support Indigenous youth and families through impactful outreach and advocacy with the Fraser Region Aboriginal Friendship Centre Association in Surrey, BC. This full-time role addresses health, safety, and community connection.
As the Indigenous Youth Outreach & Empowerment Worker, you will report to the Youth Services Program Manager. This role focuses on providing education, resources, and crisis intervention for Indigenous youth, fostering relationships with local services to improve their well-being. Your compassionate approach will guide youth through challenges and advocate for necessary support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide referrals for youth and their families
• Manage crisis interventions and support youth appointments
• Maintain relationships with other community organizations
• Compile and report participant statistics regularly
• Employ case-management strategies for individual support
Requirements:
• Education in Child and Youth Care or Human Services
• A minimum of 2 years experience with Indigenous youth
• Class 5 driver’s license; clear driver’s abstract required
• Criminal record and vulnerable person’s check mandatory
• Knowledge of Indigenous cultures and support resources
