The Family Counsellor position at PCRS offers a chance to support youth and families referred by the Ministry of Children and Family Development. Ideal candidates have extensive knowledge of family systems, attachment issues, and the signs of child abuse. This role involves not only counselling but also assessing potential child protection concerns and collaborating within the Surrey Youth Hubs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver effective conflict resolution and mediation services
• Assess child protection issues and report to MCFD
• Conduct short-term, solution-focused counselling
• Facilitate culturally sensitive group sessions
• Engage in crisis response practices with youth and families
Requirements:
• Demonstrated knowledge of child, family development, and abuse indicators
• Experience with mediation and crisis intervention
• Ability to work effectively with diverse cultural groups
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings
• Strong commitment to community support and outreach
Support youth and families in Surrey through effective counselling techniques and community engagement at PCRS.
