Empower youth at risk of homelessness with Newton Youth Hub as an Outreach Housing Specialist. This position offers full-time hours, engaging directly with young individuals to secure stable living situations.
As an Outreach Housing Worker, you will provide case management and personalized support to youth impacted by homelessness in Surrey and Delta. Collaborating with the Youth Housing team, you'll develop supportive plans tailored to individual needs while engaging in community partnerships. Your commitment will help youth navigate housing challenges and build essential life skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver individualized support to youth in need of housing
• Build meaningful relationships and service plans in collaboration with participants
• Encourage youth to engage with educational and employment opportunities
• Liaise with various local organizations and stakeholders
• Document case notes and track progress effectively
Requirements:
• 1 year of experience working with vulnerable youth
• 2-Year Diploma in Child and Youth Care or equivalent
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of tenant rights and housing regulations
• Experience in promoting a culturally inclusive environment
