Position Overview Are you passionate about supporting youth in their journey to independence? Join our Youth Services Program as a Youth Outreach Worker, helping youth (ages 16-19) connected with the Ministry of Children and Family Development build skills for success in areas like health, employment, and education. In this role, you’ll work one-on-one with youth to develop goal-driven plans, assist with problem‑solving, connect them to community resources, and advocate when needed.
Responsibilities Build rapport with youth and assess their needs.
Provide life‑skills instruction and develop goal‑driven plans.
Assist with problem‑solving and connect youth to community resources.
Make appropriate referrals to professionals and agencies.
Maintain accurate documentation and reports.
Contribute to public relations and program development.
Identify positive activities to engage youth and provide mentoring.
Work collaboratively with team members and adhere to organizational directives.
Maintain a positive, supportive work environment.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Experience working with youth facing emotional, social, or behavioral challenges.
Current Basic First Aid certificate.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Good organizational and time‑management skills.
Effectiveness in a team environment and cultural sensitivity.
Commitment to problem‑solving and confidentiality.
Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
This role requires the incumbent to undergo a Police Information Check (PIC) and a Vulnerable Sector Check by the Ministry of Justice.
