YWCA Arbour House is seeking a dedicated Support Worker with a minimum of 2 years of post-secondary education or 1 year of related experience. Candidates should have knowledge of crisis intervention and conflict resolution, along with a deeply rooted feminist understanding of intimate partner violence. Your primary focus will be on providing essential support to women and non-binary individuals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide orientation and emotional support to residents
• Develop safety plans catered to individual needs
• Advocate with government and community organizations
• Accompany residents to court when needed
• Organize events and celebrations for residents
Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years of relevant education or experience
• Understanding of criminal justice systems related to violence
• Strong knowledge of affordable housing resources
• Experience with Microsoft tools and ability to learn new software
• Valid criminal records check for vulnerable populations
