About the Job:
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Child & Youth Activity Worker will plan, facilitate and assess developmentally appropriate activities and experiences that promote the well-being of children/youth and that reflects the diverse needs of children/youth. The Child & Youth Activity Worker will provide one-to-one and group support to children/youth, utilizing the CWWA model, facilitate homework clubs and works with the local school as requested, organize and facilitate recreational activities such as communal meals, cultural celebrations, movie nights etc.

for children/youth and their moms. In addition, the Child & Youth Activity Worker provides group and individual childcare as required to mothers who may have court appearances, appointments with lawyers, counselors or doctors etc., assists families moving in and moving out, preforms light house-keeping duties, responds to emergency situations, and keeps accurate records, files, log notes & statistical information as per Atira’s practice & policies.
