OpenAI is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to oversee the Agent Harness Bridge architecture. This vital role requires extensive backend and infrastructure expertise in a fast-paced setting while prioritizing high-quality engineering standards. You will define the essential systems and APIs that researchers rely on for effective agentic code execution.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and evolve the Codex harness integration
• Own major surfaces from API design to operations
• Build reliable systems supporting large-scale training
• Collaborate with cross-functional research and platform teams
• Establish stable workflows for highly technical users
Requirements:
• Significant backend or infrastructure system experience
• Expertise in API and systems design
• Detail-oriented approach to reliability and quality
• Proven cross-functional leadership experience
• Proficiency in Python;
Rust experience is a plus
