Senior Firmware Engineer

At Moment Energy, we’re looking for a Senior Firmware Engineer to join our team in Coquitlam, BC and help shape the brains behind our battery energy storage systems. You’ll be working on firmware that actually matters, writing clean C/C++, solving tricky embedded problems, and collaborating with a brilliant team across hardware, power electronics, and data science.

What you’ll be doing

• Building and maintaining firmware for our BESS products.
• Writing solid C/C++ for microcontrollers and embedded processors.
• Working with CAN, Modbus, Ethernet, RTOS, and ARM-based systems.
• Helping develop control algorithms for BMS functions like cell balancing and fault detection.
• Testing, debugging, and making sure everything runs reliably and safely.

What we’re looking for

• 7+ years in embedded firmware development.
• Strong C/C++ skills and a deep love for embedded systems.
• Experience with safety-critical software and ASIL.
• Confidence with debugging tools like JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analysers.
• Someone who’s collaborative, curious, and excited by clean energy.
