Overview
Education:
Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience:
Will train
Responsibilities Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, GPS or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
Professionalism in customer service
Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
Load and unload goods
Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of vehicle
Receive and relay information to central dispatch
Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
Licences, Certificates and Training Air Brakes Endorsement
Driver's License (Class 1 or
A)
Documentation knowledge
Documentation and Reports Bill of lading
Driver logbook
Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)
Trip reports
Work Conditions and Skills Attention to detail
Personal suitability
Organized
