In this role, you'll be responsible for operating a school bus, conducting safety checks, and fostering relationships with students and parents. You will report to the Manager of Transportation and collaborate with other staff to maintain a safe and welcoming environment. Your duties include monitoring student behavior, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and handling daily vehicle maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Drive a 76-passenger bus for school and extracurricular routes
• Conduct pre/post-trip safety inspections per guidelines
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report repair needs
• Monitor student behavior and report problems
• Complete required documentation and forms accurately
Requirements:
• Valid Class 1 or Class 2 BC Driver’s license with air brake endorsement
• Knowledge of basic vehicle functions and servicing
• Effective communication skills in English
• Experience in performing vehicle inspections
• Pass a comprehensive bus driving test
