Responsibilities
- Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
- Load and unload goods.
- Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes.
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
- Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
- Perform emergency roadside repairs.
- Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of vehicle maintenance.
- Perform preventive maintenance.
- Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
- Will train and maintain necessary certifications.
Qualifications
- Air Brakes Endorsement.
- Driver's License (Class 1 or
A). - Experience with communication systems.
- Experience operating GPS and other navigation equipment.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Willing to travel cross-border, for extended periods and overnight.
Employment Terms
- Permanent position.
- Shift options: early morning, evening, flexible schedule and day/weekend coverage.
- Hours:
40 to 60 hours per week. - Language of work:
English.
