Long Haul Truck Driver

Key Duties

• Operate and drive heavy trucks to transport goods over long distances.
• Plan trip logistics and obtain required documentation for transporting goods.
• Perform inspections:
  Pre-trip, en‑route, and post‑trip inspections of vehicle systems (tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, etc.).
• Ensure cargo is secured properly per safety requirements.
• Record and maintain logs:
  Cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
• Administer bills of lading and maintain log books (manually or electronically).
• Communicate with dispatchers, drivers, and customers via on‑board computers or communication devices.
• Load and unload goods (as needed).
• Obtain special permits for international routes.
• Follow safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods.
• Perform emergency roadside repairs.
• Drive as part of a two‑person team or convoy.

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• Entry Level / No experience required
• English language proficiency
• 40-50 hours per week
• Permanent, Full‑time employment
• 50‑75% overnight travel required
• Work locations:
  Various locations in the Lower Mainland (Surrey, BC)
