As a Class 1 On-Road Shifter, you will move tractor-trailers and company equipment between the Surrey Hub and an offsite yard. The position supports equipment availability while following safety and transportation regulations. Previous tractor-trailer, shifter, or yard operations experience is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate Class 1 tractor-trailers between designated Surrey locations
Transport, stage, and reposition trailers according to dock plans
Couple and uncouple trailers using established safety procedures
Complete pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip equipment inspections
Report defects, damage, concerns, or operational delays promptly
Requirements:
Valid Class 1 Driver's License required
Meet local age and commercial vehicle operating requirements
Previous tractor-trailer, shifter, or yard operations experience preferred
Clean driving record and commitment to safety excellence
Strong communication and organizational skills
Bring Class 1 driving, trailer handling, inspections, and safety discipline to UPS equipment operations in Surrey, British Columbia.
