Job Profile SummaryWe are seeking a passionate and hands‑on dynamic leader to oversee our Surrey distribution location (18,000 sq. ft), leading a team of 3 staff members.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Manage all distribution center operations including shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, and inventory control; oversee facility maintenance, equipment readiness, and safety compliance; ensure accurate processing of customer orders and transfers; maintain inventory accuracy; and ensure a clean, organized, and efficient work environment across all warehouse functions.
What You Will Do:
- Provide overall leadership and accountability for distribution center performance
- Oversee daily operations including receiving, picking, packing, staging, and shipping
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of all customer orders and transfers
- Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and disciplined processes
- Utilize warehouse systems for inventory and transaction management
- Ensure all inbound shipments are received, verified, and stored in designated locations
- Ensure outbound shipments are accurately picked, packed, labeled, and shipped on time
- Coordinate shipping schedules and priorities with 3PL transportation providers
- Communicate shipment readiness, issues, and priorities to 3PL partners
- Monitor service levels and resolve operational or delivery issues with 3PL provider
- Oversee facility maintenance and ensure building cleanliness, organization, and readiness
- Manage preventative maintenance (PM) programs for forklifts, dock equipment, and other material handling equipment
- Coordinate repairs and vendors for building and equipment needs
- Lead safety initiatives and ensure compliance with applicable Canadian occupational health and safety regulations
- Conduct safety audits, training, and incident investigations
- Enforce proper equipment use and safe work practices
- Lead, train, and develop distribution center associates
- Assign daily work, manage staffing levels, and prioritize workloads
- Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
- Oversee packing, shrink wrapping, palletizing, and staging of products
- Ensure accurate counts, labeling, and documentation for all shipments
- Maintain clean work areas, equipment, and warehouse space
- Verify order completeness and quality standards prior to shipment
- Analyze performance metrics (inventory accuracy, service levels, productivity)
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
- Collaborate with internal teams to support service and operational goals
- 5+ years of distribution center or warehouse leadership experience, including site-level responsibility required
- Proven experience leading teams in a warehouse or distribution environment required
- Strong knowledge of shipping, receiving, inventory control, and order fulfillment processes
- Experience managing facility operations, maintenance, and equipment programs
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Experience with SAP S/4
HANA (inventory and warehouse management modules) preferred - Previous education in supply chain, logistics, business, or related field an asset
- Experience working with third-party logistics (3PL) providers preferred
- Continuous improvement experience (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar) an asset
