Job DescriptionThis role involves accurately picking perishable and nonperishable grocery items in a high-volume warehouse environment using a double electric pallet jack. You will work across multiple temperature zones, use a headset and RF scanner to locate products, and help ensure orders are prepared, palletized, and staged safely and efficiently for shipment.
ResponsibilitiesPick perishable and nonperishable grocery items throughout the warehouse using a double electric pallet jack.
Use a headset and RF scanner to locate, identify, and confirm items in the warehouse.
Palletize orders by stacking and organizing products securely on pallets.
Stage completed pallets in designated areas for shipping or further processing.
Assist other order pickers in locating items and completing orders as needed.
Work in all temperature zones, including dry storage, cooler, and freezer environments.
Lift and move items weighing between 1 and 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment.
Maintain strong attendance and reliability to support consistent warehouse operations.
Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members, asking for help when needed and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
At least 6 months of experience performing repetitive work in a physical or warehouse-related environment.
Ability to repeatedly lift and carry items ranging from 1 to 50 pounds throughout the shift.
Willingness to work in cold environments, including cooler and freezer areas.
Open availability, including weekends, with primary days off scheduled during weekdays.
Willingness to learn how to safely operate a double electric pallet jack.
Reliable transportation to and from the worksite, particularly for evening and night shifts.
Experience with order picking, including the use of RF scanners and basic packing activities.
Ability to work third shift hours (approximately 8:00 pm to 4:30 am) and complete required daytime training.
Strong attendance record and a dependable work ethic.
Comfort working in a unionized environment and following established procedures and guidelines.
Skills & Qualifications
Previous warehouse experience, particularly in order picking or distribution environments.
Experience operating an electric pallet jack in a warehouse setting.
Forklift experience or certification is an asset.
Comfort using headsets, RF scanners, and other warehouse technology.
Demonstrated willingness to ask questions, seek guidance, and continuously learn on the job.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
