Morson Edge are working with a leading multidisciplinary consultancy to recruit an experienced Architectural Assistant / Architectural Technician (Part II) on a 6-month contract to support the delivery of a major critical infrastructure project from their Surrey office.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically capable architectural professional to join the project's design function, contributing to the delivery of buildings and services within a complex and highly coordinated environment.
The role would suit an ARB/RIBA Part II qualified Architectural Assistant or Architectural Technician with strong technical and design capability, ideally gained within a highly regulated or QA-assured design environment.
The Opportunity
As an Architectural Assistant / Architectural Technician, you will contribute to the delivery of architectural and building design across the project.
You will be expected to work with limited supervision on complex and non-standard assignments, taking responsibility for defined work packages and applying your professional knowledge and judgement to develop practical and effective design solutions.
You will work closely with senior architectural professionals and multidisciplinary teams, communicating technical issues clearly and supporting the successful delivery of project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Contribute to the delivery of architectural and building design packages.
Take responsibility for defined architectural work packages.
Work with limited supervision on complex and non-standard assignments.
Produce and coordinate architectural design and technical information.
Support concept design and feasibility studies.
Apply professional knowledge and judgement to resolve design and technical issues.
Evaluate alternative design solutions and make informed decisions.
Work closely with multidisciplinary design teams and senior project stakeholders.
Communicate complex technical and design issues clearly.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships across the project.
Ensure design work is delivered in accordance with relevant quality assurance procedures.
Contribute to sustainable, innovative and practical design solutions.
Support design development throughout the project lifecycle.
Essential Skills & Experience
Degree qualified in Architecture or a related discipline.
ARB/RIBA Part II qualification.
Minimum 2 years' post-graduate experience.
Actively working towards ARB/RIBA Part III and professional registration.
Experience working on complex architectural or building design projects.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Strong problem-solving skills and professional judgement.
Strong technical and design capability.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.
Experience working within a multidisciplinary design environment.
Familiarity with working within a QA-assured design environment.
Technical Skills
Experience in the following areas is highly desirable:
Concept design and feasibility studies.
Revit.
AutoCAD.
Photoshop.
Illustrator.
Understanding of UK Building Regulations and planning processes.
Sustainable design, innovation and modern methods of construction.
Experience with in a highly regulated industry.
Location & Working Pattern
Surrey office.
6-month contract.
40 hours per week.
5 days per week office/site based.
Hybrid assignment.
Security clearance required.
What's on Offer
