Year 1 Teacher

A popular Surrey primary is seeking an energetic and thoughtful Year 1 Teacher to join its KS1 phase from January 2026. The successful Year 1 Teacher will be expected to lead systematic phonics guided reading and early writing lessons while ensuring pupils make rapid and sustained progress. The Year 1 Teacher will be invited to pre-term planning before January 2026 attend induction in January 2026 and take up full classroom responsibility from January 2026.

The Year 1 Teacher will: plan and deliver daily phonics and guided reading; create engaging sequenced writing lessons; design practical maths activities and run timely interventions; assess progress and report to parents. The Year 1 Teacher will prepare resources before January 2026 and will teach from January 2026.

We seek a Year 1 Teacher with QTS (or equivalent) strong KS1 practice and confident phonics delivery. The Year 1 Teacher should be reflective, organised and able to build strong relationships with pupils and families. Availability for pre-term planning prior to January 2026 induction in January 2026 and a full-time start from January 2026 is essential.
