Overview

A school and college in Burgess Hill is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a positive and friendly community, committed to providing individualised care and learning for students aged 2 to 19, including those with autism.

The Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll be instrumental in creating a positive and engaging learning experience. You will:

  • Provide individualised care and learning support to students, acting as a Pupil Champion for their academic, social, emotional, and personal care needs.
  • Collaborate with staff and therapists to deliver a highly personalised curriculum.
  • Foster an inclusive community where students feel happy and supported.
  • Contribute to an environment that encourages all students to achieve their full potential and makes learning exciting and accessible.

  • A genuine passion for working with children and young people with special educational needs, especially those with autism, and a desire to make a real impact.
  • An empathetic, understanding, and patient approach.
  • A collaborative team player, eager to work alongside teachers and therapists.
  • A proactive learner, keen to develop new skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • GCSEs in Maths and English (Level 2/Grade C or above).
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.
