We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) to join our specialist SEMH provision in Horley. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who require tailored emotional support to thrive both academically and personally.Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver targeted emotional literacy interventions to individuals and small groups
  • Support pupils in developing self-esteem, emotional regulation, and social skills
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external professionals
  • Monitor and evaluate progress, maintaining accurate records of interventions
  • Contribute to a nurturing and inclusive school environment

What you'll need to succeed

  • ELSA training (or willingness to undertake training)
  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEMH or SEN setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A calm, patient and flexible approach
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
