Job Description & How to Apply Below

Salary: Up to £70,000 basic salary

An established and highly respected Independent Financial Planning and Wealth Management firm is seeking an experienced Financial Adviser to join its growing team in Guildford.

The business has built its reputation on doing the right thing for its clients, with long-term relationships, integrity and quality financial advice at the heart of its approach.

This is an advice-led role rather than a sales-driven position. There are no aggressive sales targets; however, the successful candidate will need strong relationship-building skills and the ability to convert quality introductions into long-term client relationships.

This is an excellent opportunity for an adviser who enjoys providing holistic financial planning and wants the benefit of an established client bank alongside a consistent flow of new client opportunities.

The Opportunity

From day one, you will inherit approximately 30 established clients representing around £10 million in assets under management (AUM), providing an immediate platform from which to build strong, long-term client relationships.

Alongside the existing client portfolio, the business consistently generates an average of 2 to 3 pre-qualified client introductions per week. These prospective clients have already engaged with the business and are actively seeking professional financial advice.

You will also benefit from dedicated administration and paraplanning support, allowing you to focus on providing excellent financial planning and building strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver holistic, independent financial planning tailored to individual client needs.
  • Manage and develop an inherited portfolio of approximately 30 clients with around £10 million AUM.
  • Conduct client meetings and ongoing financial planning reviews.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing and new clients.
  • Gather and analyse client information to understand their objectives, circumstances and financial planning requirements.
  • Research appropriate financial planning solutions and prepare clear, suitable recommendations.
  • Produce accurate and compliant documentation supporting all advice provided.
  • Deliver agreed client service levels in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintain Competent Adviser Status and meet all relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Keep up to date with technical developments, legislation and FCA regulations.
  • Follow internal compliance, training and competence procedures.
  • Complete ongoing CPD and continually develop technical and professional knowledge.
Skills and Experience Required
  • Level 4 Diploma qualified and holding Competent Adviser Status.
  • Proven experience as a Financial Adviser, Independent Financial Adviser or Wealth Manager.
  • Strong understanding of FCA regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent relationship-building and client management skills.
  • Ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Strong analytical, research and report-writing skills.
  • Professional, ethical and genuinely client-focused approach.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
What Makes This Opportunity Different
  • Up to £70,000 basic salary.
  • Existing client portfolio from day one.
  • Approximately £10 million AUM to manage immediately.
  • Consistent flow of 2 to 3 pre-qualified client introductions per week.
  • Dedicated administration and paraplanning support.
  • No culture of aggressive sales targets.
  • Established and loyal client base.
  • Professional, ethical and client-focused environment.
  • Long-term career opportunity within a growing financial planning business.

This role would suit an experienced Financial Adviser or IFA who is passionate about delivering excellent client outcomes and wants to join a business where relationships, professionalism and high-quality financial advice are valued above sales activity.
