Head of Finance

A growing, multi-site leisure business is looking for a Head of Finance to lead financial operations across the UK. This is a hands-on leadership role at the heart of a fast-paced, entrepreneurial organisation. You will lead a small finance team, drive strong financial control and partner closely with senior leadership to support commercial decision-making and continued growth. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the finance function across the division, including:
Leading, coaching and developing the finance team. Overseeing monthly management accounts, KPIs and variance analysis. Managing core accounting activities including month-end/year-end close, payroll oversight, balance sheet reconciliations, VAT and statutory reporting. Maintaining strong financial controls, governance and audit processes. Managing cash flow and supporting working capital and capital planning. Partnering with senior leadership to provide commercially focused financial insight. Driving process, systems and reporting improvements across multiple locations.

You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualified experience and a track record of operating in a senior finance leadership role. We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked within leisure, media, hospitality or a similar multi-site, customer-facing environment and understand the pace and commercial dynamics of these sectors. You will bring:
Proven experience leading and developing finance teams. Strong management accounting, financial control and governance experience.

Experience with in a multi-site and/or high-volume transactional business. Strong commercial acumen and the ability to turn financial information into meaningful insight. Confidence partnering with senior finance and non-finance stakeholders. A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to operate ong Excel and finance systems experience.
