Job Responsibilities
  • Carry out high‑quality school‑based assessments as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Assess and provide tailored advice and interventions for children with diverse needs.
  • Develop and implement individualised treatment plans in collaboration with families and carers.
  • Recommend and support the use of specialist equipment for home and school settings.
  • Liaise with professionals across health, education, social care and voluntary sectors.
  • Provide sensitive and effective communication with children and their families.
  • Contribute to team performance targets and participate in supervision, training and team meetings.
  • Assist with prioritising treatment goals for children with complex needs or terminal illnesses, ensuring appropriate discharge planning and referrals.
Ideal Candidate
  • Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy with HCPC registration.
  • Knowledge or training in ASD strategies/interventions (e.g. PECS, SCERTS, ADOS).
  • Post‑graduate training or equivalent experience in child development, ASD, ADHD or other neuro‑developmental conditions.
  • Experience working with children in a similar paediatric setting.
  • Confidence in using a variety of assessments and treatment approaches.
Desirable
  • Membership of BAOT or a Special Interest Group.
  • Clinical Educator qualification.
  • Experience delivering community‑based children’s OT services.
Other Requirements

Driving licence required.
