Job Description

Join our team as a Bank Occupational Therapist at HCRG Care Group. This role provides high‑quality occupational therapy to children, working with families and professionals to enable self‑management, independence and well‑being.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out high‑quality school‑based assessments as part of a multi‑disciplinary team for children and young people.
  • Assess and provide tailored advice and interventions for children with diverse needs.
  • Develop and implement individualised treatment plans in collaboration with families and carers.
  • Recommend and support the use of specialist equipment for home and school settings.
  • Liaise with professionals across health, education, social care and voluntary sectors to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Provide sensitive and effective communication with children and their families, adapting to their needs and circumstances.
  • Contribute to team performance targets and participate in supervision, training and team meetings.
  • Assist with prioritising treatment goals for children with complex needs or terminal illnesses, ensuring appropriate discharge planning and referrals.
Ideal Candidate (Qualifications)
  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
  • HCPC registration.
  • Knowledge or training in ASD strategies/interventions (e.g. PECS, SCERTS, ADOS).
  • Post‑graduate training or equivalent experience in child development and neurodevelopmental conditions.
  • Experience working with children in a paediatric setting.
  • Confidence in using a variety of assessments and treatment approaches.
Desirable
  • Membership of BAOT.
  • Membership of a special interest group.
  • Clinical educator qualification.
  • Experience delivering community‑based child OT services.
Other Requirements

The successful applicant will need to be a car driver.

Base / Location

You will be based at one of our Surrey‑wide office hubs with flexibility for hybrid working.
