This role will primarily involve machining and repairing steel cylinders and hydraulic rams, so previous hands-on experience and the ability to confidently operate a Colchester 1500 manual lathe is essential.Key Responsibilities:
- Manual machining of hydraulic cylinders and rams
- Repair and refurbishment work on steel components
- Supporting both reactive repair jobs and scheduled maintenance work
- Maintaining high quality and safety standards in the workshop
- Proven experience operating a Colchester 1500 lathe
- Strong manual machining background (turning, repairs, refurbishment)
- Ability to work independently with confidence from day one
- Engineering mindset with attention to detail
- Flexible hours - full-time or part-time considered
- Competitive pay: £15-£18 per hour (DOE)
- Stable role within a specialist engineering environment
