Senior Social Worker within the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Team in North West Surrey, earning £42.00 per hour. This exciting ongoing locum opportunity offers both part-time and full-time flexibility, giving experienced Children’s Social Workers the chance to play a pivotal role in safeguarding children and young people across Surrey. Working within Surrey County Council’s MASH service, you will be responsible for assessing safeguarding concerns, analysing complex information, and making critical decisions that ensure children receive the right support at the right time.

What you will do:Receive, screen, and assess safeguarding referrals relating to children, young people, and families.
Analyse complex information from multiple agencies to identify risks, protective factors, and appropriate interventions.
Make timely, evidence-based threshold decisions in line with statutory guidance and local procedures.
Lead complex safeguarding enquiries and provide advice on high-risk child protection cases.
Support team managers in maintaining high standards of practice and quality assurance across the service.
Mentor, coach, and support less experienced social workers to promote professional development and best practice.
Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and timely case records, assessments, and decision-making documentation.
Develop strong working relationships with partner agencies, including police, health services, education providers, and other safeguarding professionals.
Chair strategy meetings, professional discussions, and multi-agency forums where required.
Contribute to service development initiatives and support continuous improvement across the MASH Team.
Promote restorative, strengths-based, and child-centred approaches in all aspects of practice.
Respond effectively to urgent safeguarding concerns and participate in duty arrangements as required.
Ensure information sharing is lawful, proportionate, and compliant with safeguarding and data protection requirements.
Contribute to audits, inspections, and quality assurance activities that support service excellence.
