Position: Part-time Y6 Supply Teacher Job in Peacehaven, East

Part‑time Y6 Supply Teacher Job in Peacehaven, East Sussex | Up to £130 Per Day | PAYE | Regular Work

Teach just two days a week, with no planning, staff meetings or parent evenings. Just regular, consistent part‑time (0.4) cover work until Easter.

This gives you time to breathe, time to relax, and time to do the things outside of teaching that you love. You’ll build relationships with the kids, know exactly where you’re working each week, and focus solely on what you do best – teaching.

On Thursdays and Fridays, you’ll step in to deliver lessons that have already been planned by an experienced class teacher who knows the children well. This means no prep, no planning, no assessment or data input. Just show up, teach, and enjoy time in the classroom.

You’ll work in a supportive, values‑driven school with outstanding behaviour and personal development. This makes for a rewarding teaching environment where you can focus on helping pupils learn and grow.

Located just seven miles outside of Brighton, Peacehaven is easily accessible by car or bus from Brighton, Newhaven and Eastbourne.

What you'll do:

You’ll deliver pre‑planned lessons, ensuring continuity for the pupils. You’ll follow established routines and teaching approaches to maintain consistency in learning and behaviour throughout the week.

You’ll also promote positive behaviour, support pupils’ academic and personal development, and uphold the school’s values and policies. As part of the Year 6 team, you’ll help pupils build independence and confidence as they prepare for end‑of‑key‑stage assessments.

What you’ll need:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or currently completing your induction year
  • Strong behaviour management skills, so you can maintain a positive classroom environment
  • Experience teaching upper Key Stage 2, particularly Year 6
About the school:

Join a welcoming community school and nursery school with a great reputation. The school offers a stimulating and varied teaching environment, with Forest School and extensive outdoor learning opportunities. It’s a place where you can develop your teaching skills while working with a supportive and collaborative team.
