SEND & SEMH Classroom Roles – Flexible Opportunities | East Sussex
Schools across East Sussex are seeking educators who are committed to supporting pupils with additional needs within structured and supportive learning environments.
SEND and SEMH settings often require adults who can offer calm guidance, clear expectations and consistent support. While the work can be challenging at times, it can also be extremely rewarding for those who enjoy helping young people build confidence and succeed in education.
We are currently recruiting both teachers and classroom support staff interested in working within SEND and SEMH schools across the county.
Roles May Include
SEND and SEMH teaching opportunities
Teaching Assistant and Learning Support roles
1:1 classroom support
Behaviour support and engagement roles
Long-term and flexible placements
Opportunities exist across a range of settings, allowing educators to find roles that suit their skills and experience.
Who We Are Looking For
These roles typically suit individuals who:
Are calm, resilient and dependable
Build positive relationships with pupils
Are comfortable working within structured environments
Enjoy supporting young people who may need additional guidance
Experience in SEND or SEMH is welcomed but not essential. Schools value attitude, reliability and willingness to learn.

Teaching roles paid to scale
Teaching Assistant / LSA roles paid at £89.38 per day
A child-only DBS is required. If you do not currently have one, you will need to apply and pay for a DBS and register it on the Update Service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
