Job Details

Are you an experienced teacher or middle leader with a passion for inclusion, behaviour, SEND and improving outcomes for vulnerable pupils?

Do you want to influence practice beyond a single classroom and work alongside Headteachers, Senior Leaders, SENDCOs and pastoral teams to build truly inclusive schools?

Sussex Alternative Provision College is seeking an ambitious and values‑driven Inclusion Advisor to join our highly regarded 3R (Reengage, Refocus, Reintegrate) Team.

This is a strategic and operational leadership role focused on reducing permanent exclusions, strengthening mainstream school capacity and ensuring that children and young people receive the right support at the right time.

Working across West Sussex, you will partner directly with school leaders to provide expert advice and guidance on behaviour, inclusion, SEMH, SEND and reintegration practice. You will help school teams identify barriers to learning, develop sustainable solutions and implement evidence‑informed approaches that improve outcomes for vulnerable pupils.

Alongside this advisory role, you will lead and develop a team of skilled 3R Mentors, coordinating targeted interventions, overseeing individual support plans and ensuring that support is responsive, impactful and centred around the needs of each child. You will play a key role in transferring specialist AP expertise into mainstream schools, helping build confidence, capability and long‑term capacity within education settings.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys strategic thinking, coaching others, leading teams and driving meaningful change for children who are at risk of exclusion or disengagement from education.

Responsibilities
  • Work alongside Headteachers, Senior Leaders, SENDCOs and pastoral teams to develop inclusive policy, practice and provision.
  • Lead a team of specialist mentors delivering targeted interventions for vulnerable pupils.
