We're looking for experienced Registered Mental Health, Learning Disability or Adult Nurses with:
- Master's level education in a related subject
- Extensive experience within mental health and specialist clinical services
- Expert knowledge of multidisciplinary working and evidence-based practice
- Strong leadership, teaching and service development skills
- Advanced clinical decision-making and risk management experience
Experience with in eating disorders or complex mental health services is highly desirable.
The roleAs Nurse Consultant for the Sussex Adults Eating Disorder Service (SEDS), you’ll provide strategic nursing leadership while maintaining an advanced clinical role supporting adults with complex eating disorders.
You’ll:
- Lead nursing practice across the specialist eating disorder service
- Shape and implement innovative care pathways
- Provide expert clinical leadership and consultancy
- Hold a specialist caseload requiring advanced intervention
- Lead physical health monitoring and risk management training
- Co-develop clinical policies and protocols alongside the Consultant Psychiatrist
- Support governance, quality improvement and service development
- Coach, supervise and mentor nursing colleagues across the service
This is an opportunity to influence practice at both individual patient and whole-service level.
About the serviceThe Sussex Adults Eating Disorder Service (SEDS) provides specialist community treatment for adults diagnosed with:
The service also provides in-reach support to acute hospitals across Sussex in line with MEED guidance, working closely with liaison psychiatry, community mental health teams and wider healthcare partners.
LocationBased at East Brighton Mental Health Centre
, with spoke sites across Sussex supporting place-based care.
Regular travel across the county forms part of the role.
